Owen is the name of the first robot built by Team 1713. Named after TP Owens, President of a branch of founding sponsor Verizon, Owen competed in Aim High in the 2006 season. Owen's weight was 119 lbs, and it was specially designed to climb any surface required by the game. Additional parts used to build Owen were provided almost exclusively by Don's Prop Shop, with the notable exception of a pool noodle, which was included out of necessity during a last-minute redesign.
