FLL Robot Set

Starting with the 2006 season, the official FLL Robot Set is now the Mindstorms NXT kit. This supercedes the previous Mindstorms kit (see Legacy Kit below). The old Mindstorms system can still be used, but new teams will not have the option to purchase them.

The official kit can be purchased at the time of registering a team. It is very similar to the retail LEGO Mindstorms kit that can be purchased in toy stores with the addition of some specific parts and generally more plastic parts to support the needs of an FLL team.

Important Note: You are allowed to use LEGO pieces from almost all LEGO product lines so any LEGO your team already owns can most likely be used. There are some restrictions - see FLL Allowable Parts for details.
