You sure you're not David Tidmarsh? Maybe you should head up a wikipedia:wikipedia:Typo team? (It probably would be easier to set up now, than after we have a vastly higher number of spelling mistakes.) --Mrawls 18:27, 9 Jun 2004 (EDT)
Hrm... this is about the page IP address you just made. I don't quite know where to put this, since it has no talk page! I'm just wondering if it is appropriate to create pages that refer other people directly to another site, but that look like they refer them to our site. It seems dishonest. Not to mention unnecessary, since we already have the ability to say wikipedia:IP address. And I doubt there's anything particular to FIRST that we need to mention about it ... so if it crops up in some article, it would be more appropriate to use the wikipedia link itself. --Mrawls 17:56, 9 Jun 2004 (EDT)
- Its all fixed. I modified this message to point directly to Wikipedia, not our redirect page. --SilverStar 18:01, 9 Jun 2004 (EDT)
- And I went ahead and deleted the redirect page. --Mrawls 18:03, 9 Jun 2004 (EDT)
- It is not referenced in an article. Go to an anoymous user's talk page. At the bottom you will see a MediaWiki generated notice that links to the IP address page. That's why I can't change it ... for now. --SilverStar 17:59, 9 Jun 2004 (EDT)
- Actually, It's in the standard message for non-users (IP addresses)--Astronouth7303 17:57, 9 Jun 2004 (EDT)
I usually copy the page into a text editor for large edits so you don't have to worry about losing them. --Max 14:05, 6 Jun 2004 (EDT)
What's with the protections of these pages? They are just content pages like any other. --Max 22:11, 7 Jun 2004 (EDT)
- All these pages are redirects to User: pages. --SilverStar 22:13, 7 Jun 2004 (EDT)
- So you are going with the user: page superseeds people page? I thought there would be seperate ones if the person warranted it. Like i'd say brandon martus and andy baker among the ones you were editing, should have seperate pages. --Max 22:18, 7 Jun 2004 (EDT)
- I understand you don't want people to accidentally edit the wrong pages, but I think that is protecting something that is definitley should be in the common FIRSTwikiers control. I think that means we need more people doing corrections (admins), not more protecting. There hasn't really been any response on the how to choose admin questions, so I'm just gonna pick some. If you want to suggest someone, please do. --Max 22:31, 7 Jun 2004 (EDT)
- I'd suggest User:Mrawls. Should the pages be unprotected? --SilverStar 00:25, 8 Jun 2004 (EDT)
I was just looking at the code repository. It's sweet. Don't despair, I'm sure there will be tons of contribs when next season rolls around! --Phrontist 16:19, 13 Jun 2004 (EDT)
- I'm working on even cooler things than the repository, like a remake of 2d classics, like Metal Slug. :) --SilverStar (Advay) 21:49, 13 Jun 2004 (EDT)
- Metal Slug?!?! Awesome! Tell me more! That is a great game. --Max 21:52, 13 Jun 2004 (EDT)
- See my page. Go to the vault. I'm almost done with the 2d sprite library; as always, I'm reinventing the wheel. --SilverStar (Advay) 21:59, 13 Jun 2004 (EDT)
